Raiders’ Terrelle Pryor Calls Dennis Allen A ‘Great Leader’
After making an impression earlier in the season, quarterback Terrelle Pryor earned the role as the starter under center for the Oakland Raiders and appeared to have a bright future ahead. Unfortunately for Pryor, rookie Matt McGloin emerged as the better option under center following a knee injury suffered by Pryor. McGloin led the team to one win over the Houston Texans until Pryor once again took over as the starter in the season finale against the Denver Broncos. Although Pryor's future in Oakland remains uncertain as does McGloin's, the quarterback is clearly a fan of head coach Dennis Allen and doesn't seem opposed to having him comeback next season via Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com:
“Personally, I love Coach Allen. He’s a great leader. He’s a great leader. The thing I really liked about him, he didn’t change. When we started losing, he didn’t change one bit. A lot of guys crack under pressure. I think coach Allen handled himself. We look at that stuff (as players). I think he did a phenomenal job this year. I have a lot of respect for Coach Allen ... I respect coach Allen, but that’s really not my call. That’s Mr. Davis’ and Reggie’s, and really, Mr. Davis’."
At this point in time, Allen seems poised to return to Oakland for a third year. Although that's and oddity considering the team's recent history of parting ways with the head coach after two years, Allen may have earned the right to return with the team set to rebuild through the NFL Draft and with a considerable amount of cap space available. All signs point to Allen returning, but anything can happen. Jon Gruden rumors will continue to swirl until a decision in Oakland has been made.

Gruden has a cushy mnf job he isnt crazy people kill themselves for that job. And you think he leaves to go backwards in life to coach a franchise thats in disaray, we still dont have a qb, lol. This is pathetic and unacceptable. Dennis allen keeps his job because of default. No one else whats to inherit this fiasco of a mess. Just when baby. Just when baby…..
